Default quick clutch failure question

Hi,

I own an S2 with about 80k miles. I replaced both master and slave cylinders in the last 1000 miles as well as the brake fluid reservoir. Fluid level is full and there are no leaks. As I was driving home the other night I noticed the clutch was starting to engage in a different position. I would aslo get a lot of clutch chatter downshifting into 2nd without rev matching when coming to a full stop. Finally this morning the whole thing gave out and it became very diffucult getting the car into and out of gear to the point where I can not even get the car into any gear and the pedal is totally depressed and needs to be lifted manually. Can anyone give me a little idea of what may be wrong before I start troubleshooting tomorrow? Clutch was last done by P.O. 3 years ago... Thanks for your time.

Old stock. Was ready to fail before you put it on. Some have resorted to rebuilding their original cylinders rather than buy new.
