Default 944Fest Jam Session

Ok, I'll use my 100th post to do something useful...

So here's a question- Who'd be up for some form of 944Fest jam session?

I play upright and electric bass, and a fair amount of acoustic guitar, and was wondering if there'd be enough interest in a jam session of sorts to make it worth chucking a few instruments in the car when I head out to Ohio.

I'm game for just about anything stylistically, but I'll point out specifically that I'm also a jazz player, so if anyone wanted to put together some kind of impromptu combo, that'd be sweet. Let me know! Who's coming that wants to do this?

I'll be there but won't have any guitars with me. If there's some loaners around, I'll probably take a turn or two. Should I tune up my version of the 944Fest theme song? lol

Regards,

(sorry for the OT)
I understand what a trek it is for you, but what is Beeg going to do?

Back ON topic-

Looking forward to the Jam.. Probably Friday night will be the best shot at it.

Man, I had the same idea. Nice to see other jazz bass players.

Ok, so here's another question, then. I don't want to haul the upright, because that'd just be ridiculous, though it does fit! (besides, it's 74 years old- not taking any chances on that one.) I've got an acoustic guitar and an electric bass, both of which could easily come with me, inlcluding my amp (which is small, but very flexible), but I don't want to bring my bass if there's not power to run the amp from... I'm more of a bassist than guitarist, but there's the practicality issue to contend with.

I've got a 7 piece blues band with a horn section but I can't make it to the fest anyway. sorry but that does sound like a whole bunch of fun. I don't think they would all fit in the 944, though

Don't forget the chord/tab books - that would increase the reperatoire, err the number of songs everyone can play!
