Default Thinking of selling my 951

Although I've only had it for 3 months, I'm thinking of selling my 86 951. I really need to save money for a house and at this time it doesn't make sense for me. I know I won't be able to find another charcol 951 in the shape mine is in in the future, but I think it's something I gotta do. I will be in Chicago starting July 16th to the 28th and will probably put it in the classifieds here on Rennlist and ebay.

I will take many more photos when I'm ready to sell it.

What kind of miles does the car have on it? What about the water pump and belts? When were they changed last? And what do you think you will ask for it? All factory except the wheels and the exhaust?

This car has been basically rebuilt starting in august 05 until Feb. 06. I bought it from a guy in TX. It has 86,000 true miles. Vitesse Stage 2, with chips, MAP, SMT6 WB O2, Full 3 inch headers, downpipe, and 3 inch speedforce racing exhaust with no cat. Stage 1 head job by lindsey racing, DB WG, new center console and all new rocker switches. New paint job, original color, 3 coats of dupont paint and 4 coats of clear. The paint is amazing. I replaced the tan door panels with excellent condition black ones. The suspension has new koni yellows on all 4 corners, strut tower brace and new front springs. New turbo twist 17 inch rims with new Bridgestone Potenza tires.
New waterpump, all belts, hoses, alternator, starter, battery. This car is by far the best example of an 86 951, ( and there are alot of nice 951's on here). The only thing this car needs is a new A/C compressor. It's already converted to R134, the compressor has a leak though.

I will ask $16,500. Over $24k in reciepts.

Also, new carpet and newly recovered front seats, plus a sick Alpine head until, Alpine amp and 4 Infinity speakers, 1 in each door and 2 in the back hatch, in carpeted boxes.

Hey just curious where did you get your carpet kit from? And specifically what color is it? I am looking into this and cant decide on which color to get (it is originally brown and i want to change to a tan).

I will check the reciept on the carpet. Most of the work was done by the PO, but I have a stack of reciepts.

I hate to see a car sell under these conditions. I can only hope you are not taking a loss on your purchase price, and to buy a car of this caliber in the future will undoubtedly add 2k to the price.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks. I just took it out for a little spin and I really love it. I won't sell it just to sell it and take a loss. I will sell it if I get what I want for it, which is basically what I paid for it, plus a few $$ more for the stuff that I've added.
