I'll be running in the advanced group, likely in the 968 that I picked up over memorial day. The only pics I have right now are from the dealer:

That car is currently in the shop getting the tranny fixed (pinion bearing - I knew that when I got it) and a few other maintainance items checked off the list (belts, brakes, cam chain) but it should be ready to go in a couple of weeks.

I'm itching to get it on the track, but the car is totally stock, so I'm not sure what to expect compared to the 944

Contingency is the '84, which is pretty much dialed in with a moderately aggressive track suspension setup - 250# springs, 28mm t-bars, big anti roll bars, koni yellows, etc... There's a 2.5" height difference between the two cars at the door sill.

I just posted a google video that I shot during a PCA DE back in May. It rained most of the day, but I was pretty impressed with what that car can do in the wet.

You can see the video here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...93498629646221 It helps if you reduce your window a bit - the video is a bit grainy if you view it full frame.

I'd love to, but my leg's in a cast until the 20th due to a broken ankle. I'll be there in spirit. On the other hand, my clutch foot is OK...

I'll be there in my blue 944 as pictured in my avatar. I think i'm in the "advanced" group, but looking at the other cars that I will be sharing the track with, my pointer finger may get busy!

When I start losing ground in the bends, only then will I get frustrated :-)

When Cuz isn't jacking wheelies on a Craftsman, his E-ticket ride looks like this:
(He's never been on Nelson's before, so I hope he's taking it easy early in the day. Those who get a ride with him late in the day will surely have an experience they won't soon forget)

I'll post it here, and hope to mention it elsewhere. Those who want a ride will likely need a long sleeve shirt and long pants, and leather shoes. A helmet will help, but we'll have loaners if not.

I'm soooo stoked about this event! I have my wife's plane ticket purchased, she's arriving Friday evening, so I'll be able to do some hard playing on Friday! And I promise this year I am NOT getting called away on business fifteen minutes after I arrive. \\

Dan, how much do those club sports weigh? If they are close to my 17" Fikses, I may jump on this, even tho I already have three other sets of wheels sitting in storage... lol

Regards,

Aww, shucks Scott, I don't know-they are out in the shed. I bet you could search and find out. If it is a make it or break it type of thing, I could weigh them tomorrow, with tires on of course. They are certainly good to go with on the track day Friday, if that helps anything. Have you driven Nelson's before?

Will official 944Fest Barf Bags be provided? Or should riders BYOBB?

All riders helmets should have bags installed before riding along. I'll be giving rides for those daring enough to ride in an N/A- of course we'll make all riders eat some poprocks first to get the desired effect.

Nope, haven't driven Nelson's and I am going to be taking it easy on the track since I will be driving the car from KC to Cleveland and will need the car to get me home. lol I've been temped to put club sports on the car anyway, so don't worry about weighing them, I will look it up. My biggest worry is just getting an extra set of wheels home.

Regards,
