I feel like killing now.........
So i just got home from Jack in the Box, about a 1/4 mile from home in the dirt road, theres a big *** boulder I couldn't see untill the last damn second,(its dark outside). Somehow it didn't do anything to my front spoiler, cept for scratch off some paint. But I was barely able to make it home before I lost all oil pressure. I hope to god it only busted my oil pan. And I know that boulder was NOT there when I left 30 mins ago, it was infront of my @$$hole neighbors house that I know for a fact throws **** in the road. Anyone know a source for an oil pan for an 84 na?
God I wanna bash their skull into my oil pan like that boulder did, this was at 35-40mph too, I wonder what else happened to my car.......

best bet is to just get under there and asses the damage.
hopefully it's just an oil pan. if you actually got home, it probably is.
hopefully you didnt starve it of any oil (bearings)
get it up on jacks and see what's up.
you should be able to find an oil pan in a local junkyard or from a local RL'er.
good luck. rocks are my biggest fear next to ******** in red, lifted, chopped ford broncos.

Contact a guy named Ryoji at ita39@stuffypuppy.com I sold him an early pan for 29.95 plus 10 to ship that he thought was late and he has no use for it. He'll sell it to you for what he paid I'm sure.
If you want the sale to go through me, I can arrange that with him too... Tell him I sent you.

OK, so I just gor back inside from looking under there. From what I can tell, it is just the pan. Somehow my sawy bar lived, and the rest of the suspension. But man this scared the hel out of me, I mean I hit it so hard that it knocked the car out of gear, or maybe that was part of my reaction that I didn't noticed that I took it out of gear, but I thought it ripped my tranny out.
I just went onto clarks-garage and started reading about the oil pan gasket replacement, I realy don't feel up to it, and I dont have an engine hoist. Is it actually possible to do this with out dropping the cross member? I have to go back to work the day after tomorrow, and its frigging hot outside in AZ this time of year. Ill prolly be spending all day tomorrow locating a pan, I hope 20th street has one that isn't on a car ATM, casue that would not be fun having to remove it from a car in a junkyard and then go home and repeat the process.

I'm currently reading the clarks-garge procedure, it says to put it on jack stands, it also says to drop the front cross member, so where should I place the stands? I haven't ever jacked the front end of my car up before, I have only rolled it up on boards to change the oil ect...

Oil pan is one of the most under rated pain in the butt to replace especially when you have oil dripping in your face trying to get the gasket im place without having all the 10 mm bolts fall out of the holes. Just be thankful it was not a kid in the road instead of the boulder. If its dark, slow down or else if you hit someone, it may be the end of you financially.

yah, I had that under bely pan too, now I'm kicking my self in the *** for removing leaving it off, just coz it makes it a little bit easier to do an oil change. But I really don't know if it would have saved my pan tho, this was a fair sized rock, I'm surprized I didn't break the front spoiler.
Also, any suggestions for jack stand points? Since I have to remove the cross-member I guess I shouldn't place the stands under the control arms huh?

yeah. and just stack a couple of 2X4's under the hood and put them on some non slip towels maybe on your fenders. then chain the engine to the 2X4's.
ahofam had that as his avatar one time.

Yeah I was thinking that, but man if that slipped, then I'd really be mad, guess I'll just have to drop $150 on a hoist, never thought I'd need an engine hoist to change an oil pan lol. I don't spose its even possible to do it without dropping that cross-member, is it?
And if I do have to drop the cross member, I only have to remove the control arm bolts that attatch them to the cross member right? or do I have to drop the entire front suspension?
