Ripped off: damn - punks smashed the driver's side window, not the door one, the small one behind it, of my 944 and stole my laptop bag with all my stuff and wrecked the radio/cd player trying to get it out, failed.
Had some luck, had to audit a feed mill, I'm an auditor, and the maintenance foreman asked me to leave the car with him for an hour, well he had a sheet of Lexan and cut it out and placed it in the rubber surround for me and you'd think apart from glass fragments all over the car, nothing happened. So now how hard is it to get a new glass for that window? It was tinted too.

Quarter windows are a dime a dozen at salvage yards. Tint first and install. It's surprising they broke the window, I can pull one from outside in 20 seconds...thanks Serge!

i bet they were trying to be nice by breaking a small window rather than a door window or hatch! you should thank them for breaking the quarter window instead.

There's nothing nice about it. It makes a lot less noise, that's why they do it. Same thing happened to me a few years ago, they did the passenger side of my daily driver and I didn't even notice it right away, I did notice the ripped out stereo though.
