Question '78 924 fuel and ignition redesign

OK Here is the deal i have a '78 924 and im trying to put a Megasquirt 2 injection system with a MSD 6AL ignition system in to it. Also I would like to have the injectors fire sequentialy v.s. bank firing (right now they just spray all the time) and im toying with the idea of doing a coil per plug system.

One of the big problems I see is that the current ditributor is a vaccum advance and this will cause problems with the integration of the new components. I am wondering if any one could explain how the advance system work vaccum or electronic. Does anyone have any ideas on how to convert my car to electronic advance.

Has anyone attemped to do a coil per plug ignition system on their car.

Does anyone know hoe to get the plastic fittings that are around the injectors out of the head?

If I'm not mistaken, with electronic ignition, you don't need the vacume advance. It's been a while, but I don't recall any vacume lines running to the distributor of my old Bimmer 2002 - The PO had installed an MSD electronic unit that handled the advance internally. There was just an impulse sender in the distributor that gave a signal to the ignition unit.

You might try Volvo or VW forums - you may have better luck finding people that have experience with the old Bosch mechanical systems.

the lower set of pins was hooked up to the vacume advance and my idea is to lock the lower pins in place then runn the wire that would normally carry the impulse to the ignition to the megasquirt 2 becasue it will controll the advance, also use the pins as a camposition sensor any thoughts on this.
