I'm assuming one off of an '87 951 might be the same. I have one I took off my car in favor of AC delete I could sell you.

Assuming it will work, what are the miles on it? Thanks!

no idea the mileage, but it the car was converted to R134a at some point. So I am assuming it's less than 100k, but I can't be specific beyond that.

Less than 100K would do. PM what you want for it (+ shipping).

Yeah, an online German parts catalog shows all 944 cars between '86 and '91 using the same A/C compressor, so I guess it would work.

Was it working when you removed it?

The AC did not work, but when I cracked the fittings there was no pressure. I can pressure test my condensor to see if there is a leak there. But the clutch and everything seemed to work fine on the compressor. I will give you your money back if for some reason the compressor doesn't work. I'll also sell it for a pretty cheap price, when I figure out what cheap is.

Hmmn. If it wasn't working, do you at least remember it working since you've had the car? I'd like to experiment but it won't be cheap to ship that thing to Europe, either.

I see what I can find. I do remember it working, just not being very cold when I first got the car. Frankly, the car has been driven so little, I never again tried the AC. No weird sounds when I turned it on though, just no cold air. I believe all the magic refrigerant had escaped. If you don't want to take a pricey chance, I understand.

OK, pm me what you want for it. I may be interested. Thanks!

Any other A/C delete folks with a compressor they'd like to sell?

Guess not. I'll go ahead with a local replacement, then.
