Joe, I would give you 4k any day of the week if I had a place for the car. I would love to buy it and sell the Volvo, but it is simply to nice to have as a daily driver. Good luck and as I have said before, who ever gets your car will have one heck of a nice car.

car is going to Eurowerks on friday for PPI for midwest buyer. (he is going there, rather than Hendricks, at my suggestion) if all goes well, as i suspect it will, car will be gone at end of month.
I think i will still have it for the GTG.

P.S. - took the car to PO last Saturday (Debbie) went through all the work i did and we went for a ride. As soon as she hit the first turn, she was grinning - she agreed to buy it back if 1st deal falls through.

So, i'm slowly getting ready to part with her and looking for the next car. Seriously looking at '03 Boxster S for end of year purchase. (they are low to mid 30's now)

For the demanding consumption of cash required by 20-year old turbo porsche's - I think I'm better off with the newer stock and warranty.

You will have to take me for a spin in the Boxster S. The only thing I don't like about boxsters that you may want to consider is that you can not get to the engine esily. I know you are like me with working on your own car.

i'm partial to go fast red or dark blue.

yep, it may be hard to work on the boxster and it is a lingering downside.

buyer 1 has second thoughts day before PPI - moving on to buyer 2, buyer 3 is in the wings.

i told you she just wont let me go - i've been far too good to her.

looking forward to seeing everyone at the GTG

done deal - my beloved 944 is gone.
I took a deposit Sunday morning, cruised to Greensboro this morning on business (took my very last ride) and came back and finalized the deal. Money is in the bank and the car will be picked up by the new Owner tomorrow.

The good news is that it will stay in Charlotte, bought by very nice older gentlemen who has owned several 944's and 951's in the past. He will use this car for weekend cruiser and DE.

So, he and the car will remain in south Charlotte and I suspect I will continue to see him and the car over the coming years. He is looking to meet the whole "944 crew."

The whole sale has me bittersweet - but I look forward now to purchasing another sports car.
Contemplating short term lease on new s2000 as I await the coming '05 987S price drops.
I will contune to poke my head in and out of Rennlist and the 944 board.

Charlotte - dont forget me on the upcoming GTG's

p.s. for the record - car sold at $4,750.

Congrats Joe, btw, I think once you have the S2k you will end up keeping it. I drove my dads a little this weekend and fell back in love with that car. I can not think of a car that I have driven that gives that type of feedback. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you and your new ride at upcoming 944 gtg s

Congrats on the sale Joe. I can't wait to get a ride in the new car, whatever it is.
I take it that you won't be a participant in the auto show this year with a P-car this fall , or maybe you're planning on surprising everyone by showing up in a new boxster.

wont be in a boxster (not now anyway), but I will be at the show. Hoping to hitch a ride with Ferdinando.
either way, I'll be there as usual.

new Owner: Rick

Peter, he lives out by you and richard. I suspect we will all meet at the next GTG. He needs to retension soon.

Morning Guys.
I'm gonna jump in here with an introduction as Joe's already beat me to it. I've been in CLT for about 10 years, work in publishhing, and been foolin with cars and bikes for ever it seems.Live near Cotswold . Spend a lot of time at the track. Like German cars and currently have 3 BMW's in addition to the P-car I justr got from Joe. Had a 951 that I sold a while back to fund my track car. Recently sold that car and don't want to turn my e30/M3 into a dedicated track dog. Hence the 944. Did some work on the 951 but found it a pain to work on. Gotta remove this n that to get to the job needing to be done. Hope to do more wrenching on this car, and I'm sure I'll be seeking advice/knowledge a;ong the way. The first job coming up will be a belt retension. Expect to following this list and fi they're any others I should watch let me know.

Rick
