Default Officially FS - 1985.5 Porsche 944

$5500 - for most people, $5000 for rennlisters if anyone wants it

$4600

Well, im ready to move on, its been awesome, but i want an S2 or a turbo to do the same thing to it that i did to my N/A (clean it up a bit/lot) As much as i would like to sell it to a rennlister, i think my asking price might be a bit on the high side, but hey, somebody has to try to boost the value of our cars and i see much worse go for 4k easy, i think i have a grand over them, or i'm just modest

I'm asking 5,250 locally, and i dont want to go below 5k at all! i have had the car for about 18 months, paid 3500 (got the guy to come down from 4k) and have $2700 in receipts for just parts that i have purchased for it.
NEW -
belts
clutch
rod bearings
oil pan gasket
plugs
cap
rotor
coil

plus
injectors cleaned by witchhunter
engine fancied a lil
Jet hot coated manifolds
and a bunch of other little stuff here and there

mileage is high at 204k, but it doesnt look it at all, and aside from 10 second rough idle at startup, runs great, and smooth right up to redline

it does need new hose ran for wiper squirters, the pump is new, but since i wash it twice a week, i never need to use them so i havent gotten around to it
and it needs a new glovebox lock, currently a bungie on the inside keeps the door up (i know, its bad, but i have had trouble getting one from parts cars, and didnt want to spend $100 just yet to get one from germany and it would take 8 weeks)

i have seen an automatic car in worse shape sell for 5k in my area, and people outside of the porsche world are surprised when im only asking 5k, so we'll see how it goes for a month or 2 before i decide to take a bigger hit or not.

im in he market for a 944. from what i've seen your price is very good for the condition of yours, plus it looks like you took care of yours. well worth the 5200. i would buy it but im restricted to 3000. but nice car though, im sure someone will buy it for your asking just because of the condition its in.

Your asking price is realistic. I've seen them sell for that much but like you said, not on rennlist. Who knows, it looks very well kept. Nice looking car by the way.

no, the paint is not original, its not perfect, but it cleans up nice, and gets a lot of compliments. most imperfections arent seen unless you are cleaning it and go over it.
to help make the value more it also comes with
sport seats
sport suspension koni adjustables
23.5mm front and 14mm rear sways
tequipment bra and mirror covers
toolkit
leather sunroof bag

i will be putting it in autotrader, but i wont post it on ebay unless im desperate

thanks for the kind words

Your car is very nice, especially with those Cup wheels. I think you should be able to get your price. Good luck.

BTW - sports seats - yummy!

was about to throw it up on autotrader, and run the $45 ad.. but i cant select 85.. only 86. then its making me have to use the collector car trader? and the $45 doesnt get you nearly as much. seems kinda bull**** if i do say so myself.

I love your car - wish I had room in the garage (and money in the wallet )

I'll bet you can sell it locally for your asking price - it's probably a bit low, if you ask me, given the condition of the car - and yes, I know how much they sell for but most aren't nearly as nice as yours

I'll betcha if you can park it on a high traffic road in a middle/upper class area (I'm thinking M59 near Utica, Sterling Heights - maybe near Lakeside Mall) with a $6,900 "for sale" sign, a buyer will be happy to knock you down to $6,000 or so. The key is that the buyer has to see the car so he/she can fall in love with it.

According to your description there isn't anything big, or necessary for operation, wrong with it. It looks almost mint. That engine looks like you could eat off of it. I betcha someone local would give you that much for it. And probably think they are getting a real steal. I have that same rough idle at start up to. Goes away after a few secs though.

Ditto. You don't want to lie about the car, but if you list every fault on the ad your going to scare some people away. Write about how the 944 is the best sports car or the handling.

Once you get people interested then you let them know everything about the car. BTW, I love the "Power Brakes" listed as optional equipment.
