Default Side Skirts or Not

Seeking Rennlist opinion on Side Skirts for 944s. What i have in mind is the original accessory type pictured here. My car is '89 S2 in Guards Red.
Is this considered 'rice'? I feel it goes pretty well with the rear diffuser and maybe the Front Splitter. Any and all comments welcome....

where is your rear diffuser?

They look a bit "stuck on" to me, but not too flashy. I wouldn't call them rice, and they may prevent rocks from kicking up.

Never liked them myself. I don't think they belong on a 944 at all. The stock lines are so great, and don't need things like that to attempt to improve it.

you guys are nuts. I have the IFC flush molded, and they follow the lines of the body exactly, infact, they seem to complete the flow even more. the car should of came from the factory like that.
my body work guy, did spend some time getting them to fit and mold them seemlessly, but they looks great.

the BOX rockers that you have the first pic of, i do NOT like.

search posts under my name if you want to see pix of my car

x 944 x

and search ---- " early 944 rims"

click that link, and youll see my artic silver 944

IMHO the only ones that look nice are the IFC side skirts

I would agree with JG, the only ones I would do would be the IFC ones, but I decided against those a long time ago.

If you have to ask the question, you probably already know the answer.

The turbo I just bought came with boxed rockers, and I would rather leave them on than take off and deal with whatever may be underneath, and have the holes filled and painted.

I am going to put an AIR splitter up front, because without it, the rockers look pretty bad. I hope it will look cleaner when done, but I will never support any modification to the stock body for looks alone, even splitters look like garbage from the side.

I wouldn't do that to my S2, but that's just my .02 - you have to be happy with your car, not me.

Any one ever do a write-up on mounting these.
Looks like the come with rubber gaskets.
These are the only ones I remotely like...well there were some pretty trick ones on a 968.

I have never been a fan of them myself. But it doesn't matter what I think, if you like them go with it. That is what is so great about cars, they reflect their owners taste!
