Default cheap AC delete brackets available

I was talking witrh Karl (aka "porschedoc" here on Rennlist) at ImagineAuto and they work with a CNC machinist that makes all sorts of brackets for superchargers and other neat stuff that they do to high end cars. I asked him how hard it would be to whip up a ac delete bracket for my track car. Evidently it wasn't too hard, as Karl just called and said the guy whipped up 10 of them for him while he was doing some other stuff for them and he'd sell them for around $95 including a belt. Contact Karl at ImagineAuto if you want one or want to know more details.

Disclosure: I have no financial interest in this transaction, and am just passing the info along. Seemed like a pretty good deal to me, tho. I am friends with Karl and the guys at ImagineAuto tho, so I may not have the most "objective" opinion when asked about them.

Regards,

If you could post a pic, as well as fitment confirmation, I'd be interested.

Here is what the CNC guy made for us. I have a couple reserved for scott and my track guys that wanted them, but I have about 6-7 available from the batch he made us. It isn't anything fancy, just an aluminum bracket to serve the purpose. Get em while they are hot, I doubt we will do another run as there are a lot of guys doing them already.

Lets call shipping in the lower 48 $5, and make a $100 even with the belt and 4 bolts/washers.

Hmm...they do all of our boxster supercharger brackets as well.....let me see what I can come up with

A different CNC guy that we use does our 911/930/964 upper and lower valve covers which are designed to use the updated 964 rubber gasket so they don't have the leaking problem the older 911's suffer from (leaky paper gaskets, warped covers from the heat, etc).

I can only "imagine" the cool stuff you guys are making!

What is the cost difference between this mockup and the ones you have made?
Just curious about the CNC process etc.
I imagine it would take more time, resources etc therefore more money.
But you know those weight guys....every ounce counts

I think once the program is written, they can cut out as much material as needed, and I don't know that it would affect prices that much. I left it up to the CNC guy to decide how much he wanted to cut out. I expected him to cut out a little more than he did, but no biggie. You can cut as much out of iit as you want, but lets face it, none of us are professionals on the track, 5-10lbs here and there are not going to make a difference to any of our times, lol.

What is the weight?
Are these available from ImagineAuto, or from you directly?
Do you accept Paypal?

Thanks Doc!

We are selling them from IA directly. We do accept paypal, and I am not sure on the weight, but I will toss one on the scale tomorrow morning when I get in.

I imagine the install was pretty straight forward - are there any idiosyncratic pointers to mention?
I'm interested...

Hey Jim,

Weight is approximately 2lbs, maybe 2.25 (my scale is a needle type, lol)
