Default Great Deal on White 944 in Cincinnati, OH

Unfortunately, I need to sell my 1986 944 because I am moving and currently have four cars and only want to relocate three. I have owned this car for approximately four years and used it for my daily driver for the first three. The last year of my ownership it has been sitting because I bought a different daily driver and never had gotten around to selling it. I am “giving away” this car for a very low price of $1,000 because I need to find a new owner prior to June 15th.

The car looks very nice and is white with a tan interior (VIN #WPOAA0942GN451533). The body has no damage other than the normal chips in the paint of the front of the car. The car also includes a nice blaupunkt in dash unit that has the 6 disc changer built into the glove compartment!! The car has high miles (in the 180k to 190k range if I remember right) because the owner before me drove lots of highway miles (I am told). The car ran and drove great the entire time I used it as my daily driver. I have many receipts and records from the prior owner. The prior owner also had the A/C converted over to the new refrigerant. Since I am very busy with getting ready for my move and the car has been sitting for a year, I would recommend that the new owner perform the following basic maintenance before starting / driving it (I would like to complete the following, however, I won’t have time between now and when I move.):

* One of the axles has a bad CV joint so the rear axles / CVs should be replaced. I have two used axles with CVs that were working just fine when removed from another car that I can give you.
* Drain the old fuel from the tank and replace with fresh fuel.
* Pre-lubricate the cylinders before starting.

Known issues:

* The engine has a small oil leak from the passenger rear side of the cam tower / cylinder head. It only seems to leak a bit when cold and then goes away when the engine is warm. To completely fix this, it might take a cam tower or cylinder head gasket replacement.
* The cruise control was making sort of a clicking sound when not in use so I disconnected it.
* I removed the front swaybar because the passenger side attachment point was corroded. I still have the swaybar and will give it to you so that you can reattach if you have the corroded attachment point repaired.
* The top radiator hose is due for replacement soon. I have already purchased the hose so the new owner can install whenever they want.
* The dash has the normal dash crack(s) in the middle, however, I have a replacement dash from another car that has no cracks that I can give you.

Conditions of sale: The buyer must pick-up the car at my house in Cincinnati, OH prior to June 15th. I have a clear title for the car. To drive the car home, you can either bring your tools to perform the three basic maintenance items mentioned above or you could put it on a trailer, your choice.

Note -> I have also placed an ad in the Rennlist classifieds section.

Jeff, are you staying in the Cinci area, or heading elsewhere?

Regards,

Regards,
Scott, great to hear from you. Duke Energy bought Cinergy and the corporate HQ for the newly combined company is in Charlotte. So . . . that is where I am headed. I have been working down here since April. Moving is never fun though . . .

Best regards,
Jeff

I am attaching one because the car still looks the same now as it did then. I am working down in Charlotte right now, so I can't shoot any current photos right at the moment.

Dan is stopping over tonight to take a look and has confirmed he will buy it if it is in the condition I have described. It sounds to me like he is a good buyer because he is in Cincinnati and will have no problem taking care of the TLC items it needs. I have been spending any extra time I have with family, working on the house, working on my current daily driver (1999 BMW 540) and tinkering with my 944 turbo race car here and there. Therefore, my 944 has been a bit ignored lately.

Jeff
