Hi guys,
I'm a recent transplant to NYC from Connecticut. My car (91 s2) needs another timing belt and I also think a water pump since its never been changed (80K). Is there anyone around NYC that you recommend who is reasonably priced?
thanks
sonny

and a few others will chime in with more names.
sonny is probably the closest to nyc. he is a mile or two from the queens border, off the cross island.

I dont know exactly what happened, but from what ive heard Taso wanted to stick with maitenence and building race cars.. and the other guy wanted to do more 'custom' stuff. To me, Taso wanted to stay as a repair kinda place where as the other guy wanted to do the 'bling' side of things.
Personally i would just take it to S&M, i have never heard anything bad about them.

THta comes as a little but of a surprise, I always liked the service and knowledge at RPM, even though I lived right by S&M I broght my car to RPM when it needed Porsche expertise. I also liked that they were a repair shop that could also do some custom fab as well.
So what is the full name of Taso's new place? Where is it?

Its called TKX performance now, its at the same location as RPM.. RPM moved to a place in Hicksville off South Oyster Bay road.. i havent been there but i believe its not far from the Grumman building.
Ive only dealt with him (Taso)twice for a wheel alignment (he did a nice job with it) and bought brake fluid from him.. he seems like a really nice guy. Ive also heard alot of nice things about him through the local PCA guys.

He also has a 944 Turbo (actually I think it may be his wife's). It's just that extra bit comforting to know that he's that much more familiar with the car.
