Renntreffen, first "official" announcement!
The third annual Renntreffen will be held Sept 22-24. We will be staying at Tan-Tar-A once again, and have a room rate of $99.00/night for the group, and you can call them at 1-800-826-8272 to make reservations. Be sure to tell them you are with the KCWS/KC Wrenching Society Renntreffen group, otherwise the rate they will quote you will be somewhere in the $135/night range. Its a nice resort, not just a hotel, and is well worth the price. If you desire less expensive accommodations, there are a ton of them to choose from, and we should be able to accommodate any price range.
Activities will be similar to last years event, with a Friday night gathering at a local watering hole (location to be determined, does anyone want to go back to Pickled Pete's?), a Sat morning Shine n Show, the Poker Run around the lake, and a banquet in the evening (we will be opting for a banquet room this year). At the banquet, we will be have the IRL awards ceremony, door prizes and no Renntreffen would be complete without the infamous "Jello Shot" contest. Sunday will be a casual brunch at the Black Bear Lodge, and then we'll hit the road for home.
Last year, we had folks come from Chicago (Lee and Michelle), Ohio (Wade, official Jello "sensei"), Nashville and St Louis, as well as the KC contingent. We'd love to see even more folks this year! Please pm me or call me at 785-865-3435 if you have any questions or are interested in attending!
Regards,

Last year we had a lot of door prizes that were given away too! I'm sure they'll be just as many this year! And this event is open to all makes of Porsche, not just the water pumpers. It's really a GREAT get away! Don't forget to join us for our annual old tyme group photo!

Oh, and for those that don't know, Tan Tar A is at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. But I can't get you to party cove. :-( No boat. But if you've got one, I want to go!

Hmmm.....
Might be able to work it out this year. I have a marathon the week before though so I'll have to work through the logistics. Kerry and I could use a break like this.

This was a real cool event last year, and the Tan-Tar-A resort is a really nice place. Actual cabins instead of hotel rooms. And the lake is nice, too, with a nice cruise around it.
Got to meet some great people too.

Geo, it would be VERY cool to get to meet up. Wade, as always, we gotta hook up and jam, I'll provide the guitars as long as I can talk you into providing the same for 944Fest!
I can't wait, Renntreffen is always the highlight of my year!

Kerry and I were talking about it today. It looks like she won't be going to my marathon, so I probably won't spent that much time in Rochester (my hometown) - just enough to say hi to a few key people and leave some flowers at my parents' graves. That will leave some time to take off the following weekend from work. Timing should be perfect, but of course that means something could blow up at work
Anyway, we're discussing it and hopefully it will work out great.
