Default poking around and found some weird $hit

i was pokin around the engine bay again, i was really bored, and my two front struts are loose. do i tighten the big nut in the center or the three nuts on the outside? and i found this wierd friggen plastic tube just hangin around(right behind the driving light pocket) ill take a pic tommarow. i gotta put the car on jack stands and look around underneath. could that tube be some sort of ducting?

yes, big nut or the strut bolts can all be tightened...depends on whats loose. Ducting is prob for the alternator. Many times it comes off and is laying in there.

The turbos had the duct because the alt sits right near the hot turbo. NAs did not get ducting until the later cars. Early NAs and the 924S did not have it. The original alt on my 924S had over 80K miles on it, maybe more I don't recall, when I removed it to replace it with a higher output alternator.

Neither of my turbos came with ducts attached. I never bothered to put them back on. Knock on wood, but never had an issue.

My 85.5na had the duct, but that thing was hard as ^&*% to get back on (and to stay on), so it never really was right.

my friend looked at my 944 before i bought it, and where the 944 badging is now, there was "turbo" badging there. im not sure what the deal is with that, but im pretty sure that there is no way to make a turbo motor a n/a, w/o doing some extensive mods.

i'm pretty sure someone just slapped "Turbo" on there a while ago.

it probably costs more to N/A a turbo than it does to turbo an N/A.

You are welding a set of ramps up? Are you sure it will safely hold a car?
