Default It's been a while, whats the deal about euro front bumpers?

Since I'm on the hunt for a NA, I want to plan ahead a little.

After owning 951's forever, the last thing I want to look at is those butt ugly front bumper pads.

Where, how much?
I've got some contacts in Europe, will it be easier to get one from there?

Cheers,
Jason

What makes it hard is not the cost of the bumpers (plenty of them sitting around in junk yards all over Europe) -- but the cost of shipping them.

Was Canada and the US the only countrys to get our "beautiful" US spec GIANT bumper pads.

I have a feeling I'll be visiting a few euro countrys this year for work, and for most locations I will have a shipping container at my disposal for bringing back a few things.

Maybe I'll hit every junkyard with 100 miles while I'm there and bring back as many as I can.

If you bring back any, put me first on your list.

The euro trip is still in the "if" stage. I hear lots of rumors as to where I'll be going next, but it all comes down to "if" we get a purchase order.

If I get to be in this situation, you can bet I'll be looking for a way to bring some back.
Untill then if anyone gets a lead on one, let me know.

Cheers,
Jason

Ooh, me likes!

I used to be a huge Mercedes nut because of my 300TD, and the most coveted part for 80's Mercedes-Benzes are the European headlights. I was in Saudi Arabia recently, and the whole time I was there, I was amazed that every mercedes had European headlights! This was made more amazing because they were really in my face all the time, since like 40% of all cars there are MBs.

Is it true that you need to swap fenders as well on the front end and maybe headlights in converting from NA to Turbo/S2?

yes. They are talking about euro bumpers like mine, just replaces the stock bumper. Turbo/S2 you need the bumper, lights, shocks, metal bumper support, nosepan, light covers, and fenders unless you modify them like we did to the rocks old car.

The fenders can be modified to fit by a competent body man (the route I would go since removing the fenders is a PITA).
