Default NNJ PCA Autocross at the Meadowlands

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have any specific info on the PCA Autocross this weekend? I checked the website but it doesn't give any information about start time, arrival, inspection time ect.

I'm Flying in Saturday morning and figured I would either drive the old man's car or get him behind the wheel while I was in town.

Look at "What to Expect" on the website. Registration starts at 8:00.

I try to arrive about half hour before registration opens...gives me enough time to get the car cleaned out and ready to go, buy coffee and walk the course a few times.

Ill be there along with Dan (Jeeper31), look foward to meeting some of you guys. I also look foward to seeing that 951 again...it was really sweet!

Good luck buying coffee at the Meadowlands. They do not allow food trucks in their lot. The nearest Mc-D's is about a 15 minute ride. So get your coffee before you arrive. Same applies to food and drink - bring your coolers filled with what you expect to use throughout the day - you probably won't have time to get to a fast food place during the event. Sounds like it is going to be a beautiful day - bring plenty of water/drink (no alchohol permitted), and lots of sunscreen as well.

Some more details:

Registration opens at 8:00 (as detailed above)
Cost: $35 for PCA members, $40 for non-members
Event it limited to 120 participants (arrive early)
Most likely, we'll be running in the lots between Giants Stadium and Rt. 3, across from the NJ Turnpike entrance on the other side of Rt. 3.

At the end of the event, we will hold the "Ray Catena Porsche Cayman Challenge." 22 lucky participants will go head to head in a Cayman S from Ray Catena. (Yes, I am one of the 22!) Throughout the day, you can give up one of your runs in your car and for $5 drive the Cayman. (Space is limited and I don't have the specifics - again - arrive early)

Hope to see you there! This will be the Autocross debut of my new suspension. I already have two track events with the new goodies in the car - and have been very pleased with the outcome - I hope the same is true for AX!

Look me up! Red 944S2 #42
-Z-man.

Thanks for the info, I was planning to do the same as Jon...I would have starved. There's info on the NNJR website...but I don't see anything on the $ 5 to drive the Cayman. I guess we'll find out Sunday.

Bring an extra sandwhich if someone didn't bring any food!!

The Cayman rides are not totally confirmed as of yet. There will be an annoucement at the driver's meeting regarding this. (Participants in the actual challenge at the end of the day are not eligible for the $5 drives.) BTW: All proceeds from the Cayman drives are going to charity.

Everyone will tell you something different, honestly i dont bring much with me and never had problems last season. Things i usually bring are 3M painters tape for numbers, water, quart of oil, a folding chair (though ive never used it), tire pressure gauge, helmet and if its really sunny and hot an umbrella. As per Z-Man, bring food also!

I'll definately be there and looking forward to meeting everyone. Thanks for the food and drink tip. I just broke my habit of bringing a cooler so I can support my local coffee truck guy. I've exchanged the cooler for a set of race tires. Now there is no room for the cooler. Ya think i can get some ice, sandwiches and drinks in the spare tire well? See all on sunday.

Oh yeah, fora $10 donation you can drive my car. (Heh heh)
