Guys, I actually think that you're in violent agreement. The agreement is that you must use a lubricant with the clay. Some use lube marketed specifically for that purpose and others use soapy water but either way the clay will kill the paint if you don't lube 'er up.

Geoff, sent you a PM about possibly working on the car this Friday and I'm perfectly fine with soapy water

PM returned greg...

I've gotta calm down... thanks for mediating... I'm anxious about things that're gonna happen later...

Zoltan, sorry for blowin up at ya... just had a bit of a nerve fry.. lets agree: clay without lube = bad. clay is good, whatever lube you use, just make sure it's slick.

How 'bout Astroglide? Or maybe the warming stuff?

im back from finalling paying for membership, so i can get some pics up and list my cars!
I agree 100%, and no offense to anyone. like you stated i think it was just worded a little wrong from what i was TRYING to say. i just saw a guy asking about clay when he doesn't know anything about it and i wanted to jump in as quick as possible to make sure he does the right thing.
When i get through my 5gallon drum of Showtime i will try the soapy water!
And ill be sure to ask before i go shopping for detail supplies if there is any less expensive alternatives!
