Default car pulls to the right

Maybe someone has an idea what's going on! I relpaced the rotors and pads on my 86 951. I also added wheel adapters and and 17inch wheels - Tires are unevenly worn all 4. I'm getting a rubbing noise (sounds like rubber - think its from the rear but you never can tell for sure) when I go over 10 mph. Its constant and doesn t increase/decrease in volume or change when steering left or right. The tires are definately not rubbing. The other big symptom is the car is now tracking right .

Any ideas, could it be relatred to the parking brake , or maybe a bearing issue?

Any suggestions?

put your stock wheels on and see if you still have the noise. If not, its the wheels somehow.

This may sound stupid, but it's a really easy thing to check. (I like to start with the simple/stupid/obvious things.) Are all your tires inflated correctly?

When I test drove my '88, it pulled really hard to the right. Nothing appeared damaged, and I thought it just needed an alignment. After I purchased the car, I noticed the right front was a bit low on air, turns out it only had 12 lbs of pressure in it! Inflated it correctly and the pulling disappeared. Hey, you never know.

tires are inflated properly, I sold the phone dials so I can't tell if its the wheels. Wish I had stuck with the phones since this issue is a real pia.

think i have figure it out. Noise is the crappy tires. Steering pulls due to me messing with the rear ride height. I raised her .5 inch to see if tires were rubbing. I'll drop it back down to p/o's settings and see if the alignment corrects itself. Man I wish I had a spare set of wheels to play with.

Also if you roads are like mine in VA and have a crown the car will tend to follow it and pull to the right.

Makes sense to me. Changing the ride height on one side/rear effectively changes the camber too. Asymmetric camber could cause the car to pull to a side.

i just took her out for a good burn, she rode well. The rear end noise only comes between 5 and 50 kmh. Otherwise shes fine. The pull to the right is not too bad. The noise has me stumped I'd like to think tires but i can hear it more with the windows up. Its definately coming from the rear.

Is one of your arms longer than the other?

I think he meant the trailing arms like is one set at a different angle then the other causing to the in effect to be shorter or longer then the other.

I think he meant that one arm being longer then the other would inadvertently cause the steering wheel to be turned in one direction. Kind of like having one leg shorter then the other and walking in a circle.

You may want to take a look at the "4 unevenly worn tires" for a possible solution.

ah , yeah. I think he's got it. We raised the car a little with the trailing arms to see if the rear end noise was a rubbing tire. I'll drop it back down on the weekend and make sure they are both the same length. What could cause the noise, its only at low speed say under 30 mph ,doesnt matter if its in gear or out. Sounds like a wuh wuh wuh , noise is constant and does not change when turning left to right. You can hear it good from the inside, if you stick your head out the window you cannot pick it up. I hate the unknown.
