Smile CG-Lock, wow it works!

I ordered a CG-Lock for my S2. I figured a little extra holding might be fine for now when I autocross. I'm going to dump the money into a limited slip and some shocks instead.

The CG-Lock.... REALLY holds your a** in place!!!! (literally!)I didn't expect such a drastic difference. For a $40 piece of metal, this little clip has some holding power. I can't wait til next month to try it out at an event and see how different I feel during a run. (Felt great around the neighborhood!)

HAHAHA, yeah a bit more technical than that!

Cjeckert, yes that is the one. Pretty simple to attach, and beyond simple to use.

My last car was a rag top. The SCCA won't let you run a harness in one without a roll bar. I thought about a CG-lock but for $2 more I bought a set of 3" lap belts. A bit more of a PITA to install but I thought it was worth it.

I've been using a CG-Lock for last season's DEs and for what it does, how well it works, and as easy as it is to install, I like it and think it's a good deal.

Some of the posters have already gone and upgraded to harnesses or 3" lap belts, which would work well also. But can't beat the cost / easy of installation / value for the money combination.

$20?? They come free with child seats, I've probably got five laying around the house.

I do like my CG-Lock.

I've used this when driving someone else's car. Works great. A friend is currently trying to negotiate a distributorship for Oz.

I simply twist my 3pt belt 3x at the anchor point before buckling. Learned this from an old AXer. Works the same, though the CG-lock does look nice. I will be using the twist at Mid-O this weekend.

Cheers,

I really like the CG-lock. It's very easy to adjust, if you want it a little tighter or looser. Sure a harness would be better, and as soon as I get the money for new seats, I'll go to harnesses. The CG-lock also works great for the street where a harness isn't legal. It really holds me in place on those windy mountain roads.

I thought i wouldn't like it being that only my hips are locked down and not my shoulders like in a harness. Its actually pretty cool anyways. It definitely adds a lot of extra holding. I might grab a second one for my other car.

Uh... you guys do know that the stock seatbelt can be locked, right? So instead of just locking the lap belt, you lock both?
