Just like the title says. Would make things easier if I didn't have to remove it. If I do, does anyone have a good source for a "thin head" 24mm wrench?

the OPR? shouldnt need to be removed before you take it off. Make sure you pull it straight out so you dont pop it all apart though.

Sorry, OPS = Oil Pressure Sending unit. Clark's procedure has you remove it before you remove the housing.

I am just wondering if this step is necessary. As far as I can tell the OPS justs screws into the housing, so it seems to me that it will come off with the housing when the housing is removed and does not need to be removed while the housing is still on the car. Hope that makes sense.

If memory serves, you'll have a hard time getting the oil cooler lines off with the sending unit installed. See tips in the write-up at the link below.

Easiest to remove everything in the way - the OPS, exhaust headers, etc. It will save a LOT of time and aggrivation in the long run.

Thanks guys, and nice write up Tom!

I wanted to remove the sway bar brackets, but I had no idea what was holding them to the car since you can't easily see whats on the other side. I guess the are just welded nuts? Now I know I can safely pull them off! Will make this job a lot easier.

By they way, my filter is on there pretty tight, is there room for a filter wrench in there? Or is there a better/easier way to get it off. I was looking at this tool at Pelican, http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...AT213_pg14.htm
But I didn't know if this will work. Car is about an hour away so I have no easy way to verify if it will fit the filter on the car. I just use the standard Mahle filters. As you all know, there is not a lot of room in there, which is something I just can't understand.
