Getting ready to buy new shocks and i would like to stick with stock. My car has the option code 474 (Sport Shock Absorbers) and some say its Koni and others Bilstein. So who is right? I can post pics of the shocks later today if thats needed, the car is an 86 turbo.
Thanks in advance.

Go to Clarks-Garage.com
You can narrow it to a few choices.
Also, look in your spare tire wheel wheel for the option codes sticker. It takes a mirror and the ability to read "daVinci Code" - but from there, you can google the option codes. Someone has a full list on the web. I only have the PDF, not the link.

Those appear to be Koni.

Antonio, I've got the M474 option as well, they're koni yellos.. just like yours. They're adjustable, both front and rear. The front struts are sealed, so if you're looking to just get new inserts, I'm pretty sure you'll need to do at least some part of this http://www.tech-session.com/kb/index...x_v2&id=69&c=4 or have paragon do it for you. Sounds like now would be a good time for you to get some weltmeister springs too

Antonio, I also have the 474 option. They are Koni yellows. They are also adjustable, but only when removed from the car, instead of the fancy dial adjustable Konis used on some M030 setups.
Edit - Jeff beat me to it.

The fronts are adjustable without removing the strut on mine.. theres a little tab that turns. Not sure how effective the adjustment is on 20 year old shocks though..

I know it's a fine line but the Koni's on my car are a different yellow than what you show. The Bilsteins on the BMW though are almost a pefect color match to your pic. They seemed to have done quite a bit of sourcing when it comes to suspension on these cars.

I noticed the same thing, but if you look at the picture of the strut the damper rod is too small to be Bilstein. You can also see the bump rubber, which is not exposed on Bilstein struts. Also, 474 sport shocks are always listed as adjustable, so it would be kind of odd for Porsche to deliver a car optioned with 474 with Bilsteins installed
By the way, that fuel rail cap worked great. Thanks again!
