I could possibly be there late friday night. However, I would be flying in from Chicago and I would have to rent a pile of trash or something like that to drive around in. It all depends on my interview schedule at the fair.

Anyone serious about attending, and short on funds, go ahead and register. Email me some sort of promissary note and I'll take care of you within reason. I'm ecstatic to be 50% full within 24 hours of opening registration. I'm also very pleased with the level of experience coming out. It seems we should have no problem keeping our 1:1 instructor/student ratio and everyone gets a "mentor".
It also is a great thing to have other folks answering questions, etc. I love this delegation concept!!

You can find the link in the Updates Section as well.

Non-track drivers, just register as participants. There is no hurry to pay for that role. I'm holding spots on track for just front engine Porsche drivers. IF we don't fill up (unlikely) in May I may allow other type vehicles. After all, it IS the 944Fest!

Can you define who/what is authorized to sign off on the inspection forms? I'm convinced that I am fully qualified to prep/inspect my car, especially compared to what some of the local shops are "capable" of, but others that might be on the track with me may not feel the same about my qualifications (and visa versa).

If you read in the form, at the bottom, the road worthiness of the car is always your responsibility even after you get it inspected. You should have someone inspect it that you trust. If you are an expert 944-anic, which I know more than a few of us are, I don't see any reason not to check the car yourself. I do stress that if you do fill out the form yourself, that you follow the list and check each item off as its done. If you are unsure about the procedure for checking an item on the list, please take the time to have it looked over by someone who knows. Having your car road worthy is not just in your best interest, its in the best interest of everyone else on the track with you.
In addition there will be another inspection the day of the event performed on site. Its going to cover the basics of no leaks, tight lug nuts, battery tied down, junk out of the car, etc...
The idea here is to have a safe and fun time out on the track. You have plenty of time to get those leaks fixed before the Fest so get cracking!!! Don't show up crying the "day of" with a self signed tech form on file and spilling 1qt per hour from a leaky oil pan gasket. It's just not going to cut it.
