Default Broke the reset stalk!

Yesterday while fumbling with trying to get in and out/installing race seats, I broke off the cruise/trip reset stalk. Does anyone have one f/s? Do I need to replace the stalk assembly as a unit? I was wondering if I would drill each piece for a pin and JB the thing back together. I only use the trip for mileage @ the track...

Mine was broken and I ended up buying a used one from George at 944Ecology for ~$90.

You might be able to drill a hole for a pin and epoxy, especially if you don't use it alot. It's worth a try I think. As far as I know you can't really replace just the stalk, you have to replace the whole multi-switch.

i believe i have one for sale in black. Are you talking about the part that goes on the steering colum or the one that reset the mileage on the odometer?

I think he’s talking about the stalk on the steering column (you can reset the cruise control computer).

FWIW, PET refers to this as a'Steering Column Switch'. General Rennlist terminology seems to be 'mult-function switch'.

It's a little bit of a pain to replace - not terrible, but it'll take an hour or two. Get one used if possible - IIRC the dealer price is about $250.

Thanks guys, I am referring to the steering column switch. My odometer still works, I just cannot reset the trip odometer now...
