I'm just curious. I always enjoyed doing it, I just never thought about doing it enough.

In my '82 924 I take it off every day that its warm enough and or sunny even if it's not that warm...but I don't have the electric prop open like the late 924's or 944's.

I love open top cars, so whenever its even remotely warm/sunny enough that thing is in the rear.

On really nice days, when I think of it. But I should do it more!

With the 944 I do it only on the nicest, warmest days. I let my friend borrow the car once for a couple weeks and he had that thing off every day. My mom never props her sunroof open, let alone remove it. It is really fun though to drive around with an open top.

I have never taken the roof off the 968, or even propped it open.

Only on really nice days where my destination (if I have one) is fine to leave it open.

too damn lazy. it is much easier to drop the top on the miata. the firebird was two latches and a button. the miata is two latches and a flip. the rx7 was a pain, tow latches, a button, then another latch - that took about 20 seconds total.

Whenever I can. Unfortunately most of my commuting is to and from work on freeways and I utterly despise highway noise, so I usually drive with the windows & top buttoned up on the freeway so I leave the roof on for such commuting. Around town it's fine, etc. Doesn't bother me.

What with getting more into surfing, I'll probably have to be taking it off more regularly (how else to carry a surfboard in a 944?)

man, i dont understand how taking it out could be a pain in the ***. Mine only takes what ten seconds to undo the hinges and drop the arms down, and plop it into the hatch area. Now my supra, that was a pain in the ***. IT had a targa w/ four allan bolts that held it in place w/ a factory tool to remove them. I still had that thing out every other day, some people said they never took theirs out cuz it was just too hard- but not for a DIYSer like me.

When it was running, I'd have it off until it's about 40 degrees out.. You can run the heat and not much air comes in the roof with it off , just gives it a nice feeling.

Now it will be even easier to take it off, now that my roof is manual!
