Question I want to install Recaro Pole Positions but can't figure out factory belts

I'm considering installing Recaro Pole Position seats in my 944, and from what I've seen Porsche offered seats very similar to these in a couple models. The 968 Club Sport, and the 964 Speedster. I've found pictures of the interiors of these cars, and I can clearly see the factory seat belt buckle receiver tucked in there by the transmission tunnel. And the Pole Position seat is apparently approved for road use in Europe.

But pictures I've seen of the Recaro side mounts don't have any provision for attaching the seat belt buckle receiver. How do you install the receiver? Is there a special sidemount I have to get? Where do I get it? Do I just drill the Recaro sidemount myself? How safe is that?

Anyone know? Or anyone have a pic of a 968CS with the shell seats that shows how the receiver is attached?

Bryan:

You need to mount the inboard belt on the center tunnel, not the side mount. Be sure to use a substantial backing plate.

Or you need to use those original seat belt mounting brackets from non-electric seats. They will bolt either between sliders and seat side mount or between side mounts and the floor,if you don't use sliders. Two models available, one starts with #928 and another #964. Check PET "Seats Catalogue" for details.Links to download one in PDF-form can be found with search -function.

Or get the adapter brackets from Stable Energies, they have the provision for the inner lap mount and you don't have to drill anything. That's how I have my recaro speed's mounted...
