Default 944 body modification

I was thinking about removing the back seat, and turning the car into a convertible of sorts. removing the from the rear windows and back. Removing the trunk lid.

Might kind of resemble the 914. I live in San Diego, so I don't have to worry too much about the weather.

I also want to put some bigger wheels and tires on the car. Raise it up and put some truck tires on there.

What do you think?

The link is for making a new thread...?

People have tried to make 944s into convertibles before. If that's what you're trying to do, it is a REAL PITA, and you'll have to make all sorts of crazy supports brackets and stuff. In the end it looks ugly. If what you're trying to do is replace the hatch with a trunk and back glass, to make it like a 914, then I'd be interested to see the result, as I haven't seen this before and I'm sure it's easier to do! At least, unless you want to change the shape of the rear hatch frame.

I saw a 944 with it's entire roof and pillars replaces with a roll cage, and it looked like a dune buggy. Might look cool with big truck tires...
