Default 944 S2 m030 sway bar question

I have some stuff for sale in the classifieds under Parts and Wheels entitled "Parting Out 944 S2 M030". One of the items I have for sale is the sway bars that I took off when I put the 968 m030 sway bars on the car. I need you help to confirm, after having looked in my Porsche Workshop Manuals, that the front diameter is 26.8mm and rear is 16mm as compared to the 25mm front and 18mm rear on the standard 944 for 1990.

Check out the stuff for yourself in the link Parting Out 944 S2 M030

Note: Only the parts in the ad are what I have available at this time.

Thanks!!

According to the Porsche Tech Specs book those are the correct diameters.

Any of the S2 M030 goodies gonna be parted??? ;-)

My non-M030 '90 S2 came with 26.8 mm front and 16 mm rear as stock.
On both turbo and S2 there is no change in sway bar diameters between stock and M030 for 1990 and 1991.

BlueS2 : 19 mm rear is the 968 M030 spec.

Thom,
A quick (S2 related) question... Do you know why the S2 spring diameter is different that the turbo? Will turbo struts fit on an S2? (MY 1990 in particular)
TIA!

The 19mm 3-way adjustable rear bar was only on the 968 M030.

The 944 Turbo M030 (Turbo S) bars were 26.8mm front and 18mm rear through VIN # 350 or so MY89, then they changed to 16mm. (My 89TS #14X came with an 18mm, my other 89TS #50X came with a 16mm).

I do not know if the early MY89 M030 S2s came with a 18mm or 16mm rear bar, but they most likely either changed over to the 16mm bar at the same time as the Turbos, or all came with a 16mm from the start.

Easiest to just measure the bar to make sure. Take a 17mm open ended wrench, if it fits on the bar - its a 16mm, if it doesnt - the bar is an 18mm (the paint coating will increase the diameter slightly, so a 16mm bar is slightly larger than 16.0 mm).

S2 and 968 had the same smaller spring diameter struts on them. Turbo struts will fit the S2 with no problems.

All 944 S2, 944 turbo 250 MY90/91 and 968 non-M030 springs and struts (Sachs) are swappable.

I ignore why they reduced the spring diameter from the turbo 220 to the S2.
The picture below shows a 964 Bilstein Cup strut (left) and basic 964 strut (right). Food for thought

You guys are awesome! Thank you for your help. I'm being accused of misrepresenting what I'm selling and am very fortunate to have you guys backin me up with good info. Plus, it's good for me to learn something new as well

I don't do this internet selling thing very often, and I'm trying to maintain a good reputation. See gman1868 on ebay, that's my ebay account too

Just for the record, I don't believe there was a MY 89 944 S2 with M030.

From the factory tech spec manual, looks like all 944S2s came with the 26.8mm front and 16mm rear, M030 or not.
