Good to see you again Geoff. Have a safe ride home. And next time you are here I'll be able to drink, so the best is yet to come.

I bought my car in Albany, NY last summer. I flew out there and drove it almost 2000 miles back to CO. No problems. I'm planning at least one trip in it this summer, maybe more.

Tools are a must because whatever you take you won't actually need to use...they are simply an offering to the Porsche gods to ensure safe passage

i would drive my car anywhere, but i gotta get my license first (May 5). before then i need to change the tierods, get a supension bolt and fix the hole it stripped out of. that way i can be confident the front end doesnt fall apart. im plannin on doin some road trips this summer. The thing about the car is, the problems usually show up before leaving the driveway, so everytime i leave i just check under the hood to make sure everything looks alright, listen to the engine, and check underneath (suspension parts). oh, and my parents don't want me going anywhere in it cuz its "unreliable" and "old" and "doesnt have an airbag". anyways i intend to prove them wrong as soon as i am able. the only "breakdown" i have been in is when my dad left the lights on on his 4runner and drained the batt, and no jerks would give us a jump (NY for ya lol) so we had to call triple A.

HA! Maybe because I brought my craftsman tool kit everything was okay! I do have to say that these cars have impeccable road manners and warrent the most positive driving experience in relation to distance rather than just the track/around town than any other car I've had my grippy mitts on!

Even in the stock seats, getting in the car ready for the adventure is like pulling those pair of 6 year old Addidas shell toes from the back of your closet and slipping them on. It just feels like nothing can go wrong...Although I do have to admit to plotting my trip via the route closest to the Porsche Dealerships along the way....hmmmm

My 944 was driven from San Diego to Mississippi in 1997, then back to Orange County in 1999.

I hate road trips... flying is the way to go.

I did... first road trip. Denver to Terre Haute... on the return trip, spun the #2 bearing. left the car in Topeka, caught the greyhound. Intercity brought the car as we were building a new engine for it...
