Default Which car would you rather own 911 turbo or Ferrari 308 and why

If you had to choose between and 80's 911 Turbo and a Ferrari 308 GTS which one would you rather own? I was just wonderfing since I was just looking on ebay and they both seemed to be about the same price.

Not much I just didn't want to ask 911 guys since I thought I might get a skewed answer. However any response is a good one. I like 944 turbos too

930 hands down! No question about it.
1) It looks better
2) It performs WAY better
3) Its a Porsche
4) Its not going to cost me too much to fix it
5) easier car to mod

BTW, I would take a 944 Turbo over the 308 or 328 any day as well.

As far as performance or practical concerns go it's the 911 all the way.

The 308 is the entry-level Ferrari and satisfies those people who've always want one. What the heck - it could be fun to have one.

911 turbo anyday of the week. Here's why, its reiable cheap to maintain(compared to the f-car) and I could do alot of the mantainence myself. adn i don't have to worry about doing the 30K belt service(I already have one car where I have to do that) Plus the 930 looks alot better IMO. But I wouldn;t mind having a 308 or a 328 one day just for fun

The 911 because the Ferrari cost 5x as much to fix and maintain it. The 911 is a car made to be driven. Every Ferrari needs a rebuild at like 30-50k.

Never driven a 930 but I have driven a 308 Q. Car was pristine and gets lots of attention but it's a dog to drive. About as fast as my old 280ZX which was relatively slow. Maintenance cost nightmare. I'd take a mid 80's 930 any and everyday of the week. Probably have a little cash leftover for maintenance when comparing actual sales prices.

911 - thought the 'Magnum' Ferraris are sexy, they're still not as unique as the classic Porsche design. All the service and maintenance costs associated with Ferrari ownership is also a huge factor. They are beautiful in that Italian way but c'mon - a deep silver 911 with the fat flares and whale tail - gorgeous!

Plus the 911 has always been on my top 3 dream cars list (427 AC Cobra and '63-67 Stingray hardtop...just so you know )

I would go for the 911 Turbo in a heart beat. ITs faster more reliable and cheaper to maintain and easier to find a service center for. I think all of this has already been said though. Also i think we all here might still be kind of biased i mean we all are porsche nuts.

Absolutely, without question, the 930 Turbo, unless I was a Ferrari die-hard and "had to have one".

The Porsche is faster, better built over-all and will cost a lot less $$ to run.

The Ferrari is more exclusive, flashy and exotic.
