Default 1983 944 FS - Typo?

Hey guys - I was trolling thru the ads in the Jan issue of Panorama and came across this ad:

1983 944 Coupe Silver/blk paint in exc. condition, int in very good cond. only 51,000 mi & runs great, $550 obo.

I haven't called yet, but I have to believe it's a typo. Just wanted to see what you guys think.

Could well be $5500 if it's in pretty good shape, and only 51k is verifiable.

It must be a typo. $5500 would be about right for a 1st year with only 51K. Personally, I drove my 83 today and am still amazed at the difference in gearing and all around tossibility of the early cars compared to the turbo. It feels more like a true sports car in the mid range plus the advantage of non-turbo engine braking is very cool. Don't get me wrong the 951 is more smiles per mile but I bet I could keep up with anyone on a tighter course. Needless to say I love the early cars for what they are; a light weight no frills driving machine.

I know what you mean I sold my 95 Miata to buy the Turbo. I loved that car but got tired of being 'winked' at by other male Miata drivers. JK Once I entered the darkside with the 951 I never looked back.

I think you are underestimating the one in my avatar...the other side of the car is just fine.

I just checked www.pca.org and looked at the mart there. The car is going for $5,500 there. Sorry to let everyone down. I would have been on the first plane to where ever it was to pick it up if it was $550! Best wishes - Jay

Yeah, I remember at 944fest, during the drive, the line was -turbo-turbo-turbo-turbo-me-turbo-na-na-turbo etc. etc. I was able to keep up with the turbos ahead in the twisties, but on the straights, I saw a cloud of smoke from Bloodraven's exhaust, and saw the sihlouette of his car taking off...

WE MISS YOU TIM, WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO?
