Default BBS on Ebay...

Nice wheels, very tempting. Would look good polished or maybe powdercoat the centers.

Wow.. $1500 buy it now? How reasonable is that.. seems awfully pricey. I think those are BBS RS's, which is what mine are..

I have BBS-RS wheels on the 944 also (just black with the metal lips). That is an awful lot for 20-year-old wheels.

On the other side though, have you priced replacement parts for BBS rims? The only place I've found that even carries them is some outfit over in the UK and it's ungodly expensive - just those individual nuts around the edge of the lip are about $5 each. . .

I'll second that wow. I knew they were worth some money but that's serious money.

I have a set of gold centered 16" RS in my basement, staggered 7" and 9" widths with almost new rubber, guess I'll have to dust them off and float them on the Bay too...

Greg, that was my first thought too.. but I think I'd kick myself for a long long time if I sold them, since they seem to be so rare.

Jeff - Oh I don't know, if they magically tranmorgified into a wideband O2 and an SMT-6 I think I might be able to get over my loss!

If he gets 1500 bucks I would begin to prepare for the apocalypse. I member here had an infinetly more rare 8/10" set in new original condition and he didnt get that much for them.

Yep, I've got 3 good center caps, trying to track down the 4th one.

BBS part # 09.24.036 in case anyone has an extra they'd like to get rid of?

As for the wheels themselves, everytime I look at them I hear the soundtrack to Miami Vice in my head. Not my cup of tea on a red car and I don't really understand why they're worth what they're worth but some folks seem to like them, especially the old school VW crowd.

I'm not part of the old school VW crowd and I like them. But I also liked the last gen Camaro and Firebird too, so what do I know.

I would guess that those wheels are going for a premium simply because they're BBS. Personally I'd be a bit wary spending $1500 on a set of 20 year old three piece wheels that were meant for track service. But at $1500, they're a relative bargain to buying new BBS.

no, at 1500, they are not a relative bargain. their 21 years old, and the majority of people don't like them. I wouldn't even put their value much more then a set of phone dials, which are also quite overpriced.
