IS that VladGTI from vortex? You must be a fellow CL'er...no im not your typical mk4 GTI owner: the pic is dark but in the light, I still have a good 1" before the tire and wheel well meet before its considered "slammed".

I had 3 suspension setups other than stock on that car. My favorite so far is this one.

h&r sport/bilstein
h&r race/koni yellow
kw v1 - experiment with different ride heights till I believe I got it right

the race/koni setup, although the stiffest so far and worse riding gave me ridiculous amounts of understeer, the sport/bilstein was slightly more neutral.

The V1s on the other hand, at their current height now, is much more controllable and progressive. I've yet to fly around cones but no need to. I would try the car out in a road course but now its for sale and too much of a risk to me. I'm a spirited driver and its the best compromise for me. Hopefully the 951 sway bars will help the 944 in the handling dept. I have no intention to "slam" her.

I'm euroatomic on vortex, been in CL for years. You're still not at optimal ride height though, control arms should be parallel to the ground But whatever, for street i'd rock it lowered too if i had the means.
Glad to see another CL'er working on a 944, i just parted my 84 so if you need parts hit me up, everything is cheap and i'm like 20miles away from you

If the car will be red, then why didn't you use a red primer? With the white primer, every little stone chip will really stand out. Normally light colors should have light primer and dark colors, dark primer.

while you can mix colors w/ eurethane primer to tint it, most painters do not unless the color does not cover well. Besides, when you have a chip you should really touch it up, since primer isnt waterproof and will make things rust more quickly absorbing the moister. I would rather know where the knick is and touch it up.

Yes, they don't mix in a tint agent cause it’s faster and easier to use the standard grey or beige primer. They don’t really care what happens to the paint after a stone chip. That’s not really their concern. It’s also better for all aspects of the business to use light primer. Even with matching primer, stone ships and scratches will show just not as much.

WOW! that whole proccess took my dad like 8 years! but that included a move, plus he was doing it by himself and for the first time, he went to bare metal and fixed all the dents, also it was in our small house garage and not a fancy shop. excellent project man, looks like its coming along great!

Very cool and I like the 951 under body spoiler, that will make it look a lot nicer.
