944Fest (aka Dan P)

Here's a midwinter snack for ya'll. Back in Oct I did a DE with the NOR PCA, running in A group. I bought a lipstick cam and external mount to play with, so I had it stuck on the outside of the car collecting data. This clip isn't at speed, just the cooldown lap. I had been following Skip Wolf for a few laps and once the checker fell I could snug up for some close up shots. I've got my hand out the window a bit cooling off. (Skip, Your DVD full of the weekends vids is just about done, PM me a mailing addy)

I've got about an hour of vid at speed, mostly side car and roof mounted angles. I'm sure looking forward to more track time in '06! Anybody want to do Watkins Glen in the spring?

I'm in the Glacier Blue camera car, and Skip Wolf is in red. I've got a lot more track vid, maybe I should put together a compilation. Hmmm, let me work on it.
Kevin, I'm retired from instructing, I only do one or two events a year and prefer to pay and have free time and fun instead of "working" the weekend. Instructors hop from car to car and can be on track as a rag doll passenger for 1.5 hours at a time, it is a bit too much for me.

Hey, David. I didn't realize that you were on this board. We met at the 2004 944 Fest. My aunt Carolyn was friends with your Brother Ted. I think Ted is your brother correct? How is that car doing? Post a pic of that beautiful front spoiler mod. I'll be looking for that registration to open up.

Dan, no worries. I bet it will be nice to just sit back and have fun for once. Sounds like this year will be much more relaxing for you. Will you be at the OVR event? We'll be in differant run groups, so maybe you can scare me around the track a couple of times. This will be my first year doing DE.

Dan, I am going to try and make it to mid-ohio next summer w/ my car with the potomac region. I might even try and do the ohio region event too. Will let you know. We'd have to chill.

Me too. I was stoked when I heard they were going to do that. But, it kind of takes the character away a little bit. If they repaved Sebring, I'd be in the weeds on the first lap

David, when is your event?

Dan, can you post a lap with the camera on top of the car as well. I'm curious to see how it looks there. My camera is mounted on my rollbar and I'm contemplating getting a lipstick camera to play with.
