Default How to remove windshield washer nozzles from hood...

alrighty. mine are clogged to hell, and I'm gonna attempt to clear em without having to replace em. i found underhood the wires for the heater, and the hoses, and where they connect, I just have NO idea how to remove the assembly from the car....

Thanks guys.

IIRC, if it's anything like my '87 944, there's a little clip (I think on the side facing windshield) that you need to compress and the little bugger can be pressed up and out.

Well that was easy... no clip up front, but you slide the nozzle towards the back of the car, then pull it out... wow. ANYWAY, I can now spray the magnesium chloride from my windshield and see where I'm going again! yay!

I s'pose I should try that - I just replaced all the "T" and "L" check valves and even the hoses - still crappy performance. I tried blowing 'em out with compressed air but maybe removal and hand-cleaning would work better.

I ran em under hot water, then took 120 PSI from the aircompressor to em. work perfectly now. odd, I did have to re-aim them afterward

Hmmm - I'll have to try that. I always stay clear of them when waxing so as to not get wax build up on them, but unfortunately by not getting wax on the paint there you can tell a difference in the depth of the color. I've always wonder'd how to do that, just never looked into it to find the answer.

Thanks Fellas

Cory, you can cover them with masking tape while waxing to prevent that. works really well. make sure it sticks on there good first, otherwise, it'll get ripped off and go under the buffer, and ugly words will be said by the otherwise mild-mannered Cory...

i take the hose off of the reservoir and use a hose with a nozzle to keep 'em clean.

it cleans the whole line to the nozzzle.
