Default Procedures on using the Kricket Timing Belt Tension Tool?

I just got my Rennbay timing belt tool kit in the mail last night. I didn't see any instructions in the box on how to use the belt tensioner (or where to put it in the belt compartment to tension the belt).

Does anyone have a link to procedures written up on how to use the Kricket tool on the 944?

Search up Aronworx (sp?) or rennbay. They both have pretty good instructions.

Arnnworx has a totally different design. They do show the Krikit tool on the site. Who else here has used the Krikit to tension their timing belts? I just need some good pointers for when I'm ready to tension my belts up on this new engine

Arnwork removed the Kricket procedures when he developed his own tool.
Here is another site...not as detailed but you get the idea.

Funny, my link has an underscore between tensioning and belts. I figured he had dropped the page, cool!

the krikit is ok. it's good to check the tension with 2 different krikit tools. I feel alot better measuring the cam belt as it reads within the scale of the tool. The balance belt has to be read at the edge of the low end of the krikit scale, thus it is less accurate. The balance belt is also less critical.

pointers:

* measure the current tension on the existing belt with the tool you have as a benchmark reading on your particular tool.
* take multiple measurements on the new belts, with a least 2 tools if you can get them, until you are satisfied.

* tighten cam tensioner counter-clockwise - pressing belt agaist WP roller gear.

p.s. - Bruce's tensioning tool, using an in.-lb. torque wrench, is a more precise, easy to use and only requires reading one side of the cam belt.

Andy- I used the krickit when I did my belts...its pretty straight forward. Since you dont have the auto tensioner you have room to acutally use the krickit. Put it halfway on the long section of the belt and take a ton of measurements until you feel confident in it. What fezz said is good.
