Default Electrical gremlins, this is weird

My oil pressure gauge was reading 2 bar for a couple of days, which is weird since in the summer heat of 120+F, i get 2.5 bar in stop and go traffic.

Now, with tempreatures getting in the mid 70's, i was expecting just a tad more than what i get in summer.

However, by 1,600rpms i get 4 bar.....i tapped on the gauge with my finger, and it drops to 0, but the gauge itself actually died, not the oil pressure itself reading 0.

Now, i checked around the car, and i found this from a long time back that i didn't repair yet:

Now, the wire was not dangling like in the picture (it is an old picture), but barly making contact with the hatch.

I yanked it off, and the gauge now reads and acts fine......

Does this make any sense to anyone??
