Comments?

Get the flywheel ground? Feels great, smooth. Maybe hit it with some 600 and see what it looks like? Replace it?

Suggestions on where to go shopping for the parts.

Thanks

With a good pair of vice-grips you could probably re-use that bolt!!!

Get the flywheel turned, it shouldn't cost more than $25 at a local shop. I would suggest giving Karl a call at Imagine Auto or Jason/Chuck at PAragon for parts.

No financial interest in making any recommendations here...

Scott!
How is everything.
I am willing to wager that in 2006, we meet.
After what, 5 or 6 years?
I see your stable has grown.
Best of the Holidays to all

Wow, high class! I would have crammed a torx bit in there to get the rounded bolt out.

I'll vote to turn the flywheel as well.

Oreilly auto parts can turn the flywheel for 20-30 bucks. Make sure you use new flywheel bolts when putting it all back together.

This could be a good time to say "Audi 5000" at the machine shop. There's a special tax for Porsche owners that some know to collect. Print out or write down the specs beforehand.

I have to say, my mother started this all.
Three, maybe four years ago, she backed into the rear quarter panel.
Well in my infinite wisdom, I hauled it 200 miles to an old friend to do the body work. Wanted the whole body painted, get it all nice, you know how it goes.
Well, originally, we agreed on $4500.00 and i supply the parts, except the paint. Cool, I did rack up quite a bill for all those body rubber pieces, misc parts, OMG.
Somehow, this got up to $7500.00 paid when I could not get the car back, they could not get it to start.
It would run, but only to about 2000 RPM, then it would die.
I was getting a little uncomfortable, my car was not only way over budget, but it also still did not run! Well, the shop drove the car into Columbia for diagnosis. That is about 20 miles, he did it, obviously he had to slip the clutch a little.
And, he drove it back to his shop. The repair shop could not fix it either.
Finally, I just went and picked it up. Now, the hood paint needs a little attention, but overall, it looked great, Off to a barn in central Missouri it went.
Living 200 miles away made some interesting troubleshooting trips. Eventually, we tracked the problem down to the alarm siren wire being cut, tripping the alarm. We by-passed that, and all is well.
Until, the clutch throughout bearing went south!
