Default Finally! A useful 944 accessory

I found this searching ebay for 944. Looks like it could be original equipment.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SHIFT...97616011QQrdZ1

Now if I could just find something that would turn my headlights on when it gets dark, it's so hard to tell when that happens.

Sorry, I'm in a hotel room...bored...

Hey, atleast the seller claims no horsepower increase!

Why you would need a shiftlight when you have an automatic is beyond me. Perhaps one needs to know when to put overdrive on.

...I think he means the shift light is automatic... not that it was designed to be used in an automatic car.

Hook it up to shock the driver instead of blinking... call it 'valet mode'.

Original equipment? Damn, mine must have been misplaced over the years... I guess that's another part to add to the list for restoration.

i thought 85.1 and before 944's had shift lights. was it up and down or just an up light that lit up at certain rpm?

i remember that in my '84.

and in a carrera i drove once, about the same year, too.

I have a "dummy light" in my 84. It's just a little arrow in the tach that lights up when you're "suposed" to upshift.

Juan, i tihnk most manual 944's have the shift light, its however more of a 'shift here to save gas' light like Ryan said. However i find if sometimes if i shift where it says to ill end up lugging the engine . Youll often here me saying...

"Shift now? are you freaken crazy?"

that was usually my response. when i was driving the car back home after i bought it i thought "did something go wrong? oh wait, the up arrow must mean 'GO FASTER!!!"

Wow, I had no idea that any of our cars had one stock. To be honest I'm a little disappointed in Ferdinand.
