Nope, looks like a plain ol 'S to me. Note the side mirrors are the stock powered flag mirrors, no Matter rollcage inside, standard door pockets and console.

Regards,

How about the "Racing Dynamics" upper strut support? Thought the cups had a different bar?

He may be saying that this was the car used in the Cup... as in the turbo "S" was model'd after the Rothman Cup car? That's what I'm guessing anyway.

I don't think that is the case:

Original factory Rothman’s Cup Car. Black with light beige interior. Rare opportunity to own a very nice example of only 62 black Turbo S’s originally imported into the country.

Thread Showing Pie Chart

I just think he is stating it's a turbo S, the above link is to a thread which has that pie chart showing how many of each colors where made for the turbo S and 62 does match the number for black cars.

I understand that, Corey. You are right about the number of cars produced in that color.

Still, his EXACT words are "Original factory Rothman’s Cup Car."

I definately agree with your point Ted, I just don't really think he's knowingly attempting to pass it off as a "truly been raced - Rothman's Cup Car". I think the missunderstanding comes from a poorly phrased/worded ad! I believe he's trying to reinforce it's a turbo S versus a true "Rothman's Cup" car.

I definately agree that it is misleading!!!

I saw that ad yesterday and thought "that doesn't look like a cup car".

Anybody want to inform him?

I suppose it is just "buyer beware" and "don't believe everything you read" right there in one easy lesson.

Show me the drilled cam housing bolts that they used to wire and seal the motor against modification from the factory and maybe we can talk about where the cage went and where all the cushy options came from, also, no triangulation bars on the strut towers. A nice S, but not a Rothmans. Didn't they have Magnesium phones instead of the D90s also?
