Default Any issues with turning engine upside down?

I will be draining the oil, but I know that still leaves some around the cylinders and such. Is there goign to be any problems turning the engine upside down to do rod bearings and oil pan gasket? Since I have it on the stand I figure taht would be the best idea. The thing is, is that the head is staying on as of now. Is any fluid going to go where I don't want it? I'm sure it'll be upright for a long time before i put it back in the car, so I would think it would drain back.

Anything i should look out for?

I did it once, but that engine blew...

lol - surely not because of this. It ran quite well for years. No problemo.

no problems with that just make sure you drain the oil or you could have a drippy mess. Still may want to put a pan under it when you flip it. Anything in the top end will just burn off when you start it....may want to remove the plugs for that matter.

Your horsepower will all fall out. So will any coolant and oil, so have a bucket ready.

Nah, any horsepower lost on the floor can be replaced by a NOS sticky...

Drain all the water, take the oil pan off before you flip it. No worries.

I've flipped several engines.
Drain the oil, and the coolant (Read: remove the coolant drain plug on the block) before flipping it to minimize the mess.
If any extras are attached to the motor that may complicate things (like a power steering pump), but otherwise, you will be fine.
If the head and cam tower are still attached, expect to have coolant pour out of 2 locations, the heater line at the back of the block, and the upper rad hose elbow at the front. If you put buckets under these 2 locations, you will catch most of the spillage.
As far as oil goes, you won't end up with much/any in the cylinders, so don't worry about that.
