My first car 1988 MB 200D in winter drifting - I bought it just for the first winter when I got my drivers licence. Even with 72bhp there is lots of fun in winter. I still have it because I have no time to finish this 92' 300CE 5speed...

Well, I wouldn't call it a beater. But my winter car (and summer until I pick up a 951) is an 05 Dodge Magnum. In black ofc.

Default My 944 is my winter beater

My 944 is my winter beater. I've been using my 1984 944 for my winter transportation since 2000. Just replaced my Dunlops... I'm ready to go.

thanks.. it's my third.. it's a fun wild goose chase keeping it running.

it has 160k.. I've basically reconstructed teh car. the floors and rear end were completely rusted out , to the point that the pillar's were not connected to the car anymore, and teh whole geometry of the body was twisted/sagged due to that. we were able to get it back pretty close with jacks, metal (LOTS OF IT), and welding. My dad did most of the welding.. after doing it every weekend for about 2 months, we got it done. here's a few more pictures....

ok.. have to show off a little.

Most '96 A6 cars came with the keyless remote entry. Do you have one of those key fobs? You can pick them up on ebay for 50 bucks or so, and programming them is fairly easy. That *might* save you the trouble of having to manually lock/unlock from the trunk all the time. It looks that your car has a moonroof. The remote entry came bundled with the glass moonroof in an option package, so I bet your car has this feature.

yieldsign2, great pics! Looks like youre using it just as you should be

Do you ever use the low range gearbox? Its pretty nifty. Sadly, I havent really taken my Disco II offroading, perhaps a couple years down the line when we get another car, I'll have all the fun I want in it
