Cool Time for another Central Texas wrenching party!!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I just got off the phone with Doug and he is ready to do it again. Anyone is not only welcome, but encouraged to come and participate! He has an amazing facility with any tool you can think of, a huge two post lift, and the shop is insulated and climate controlled. The barbeque is worth the trip alone - I'll leave it at that.

So here's the deal, I am going to be doing my timing belt and hopefully fixing my stupid fog light that is refusing to work. Doug has a 85.5 car that we want to finish assembling the engine and drop it in the car. He also has a 951 that if the parts come in, we want to get buttoned back up.

So what I need from you is a date that will work for the biggest majority of people - I was thinking sometime early December but we are certainly open to any and all suggestions.

I'd really like to make this one - honest! I do have a previous commitment for the first weekend in December that can not be rescheduled - Wedding anniversary in Vegas at the Venetian. I'm sure you guys will understand.

Oh boy, I hope work settles down enough for me to make this one!

Keep in mind that Don Istook was inquiring about a GTG at his shop in Ft. Worth. If y'all aren't too familiar with Don, he was racing 944s when nobody had them in this country. He has raced lots of different Porsches and currently owns and drives for a Grand Am Cup Audi S4 team. A GTG at his place would be worth it just for the information and bench racing.

Anyway, I want to make this one whenever it is.

Not yet. I'll call Don next week. I know he's at SEMA this week.

I am down for whatever date. The parts rig will be available for use!

Sharky, we should be able to figure out that fog light issue no problem.

Yeah, I'm sure it's not that complicated - I just have been lazy and it helps to have a lift.

Doug also has a 944 parts car that needs to get dismantled and sorted and packed away neatly. So yeah, there are no shortage of projects that need to be done......

sharky- how long has it been since a tune-up on the 944. I just saw the thread on discounted kits from imagine auto. Not a bad thing to do at the same time as t-belts.

Actually, it has new plug wires/rotor/cap as these were damaged in the wreck and needed replacing. I have a new set of Bosch copper plugs in the tool bag and a new air/oil filter in the shop. All I need to buy is some oil and I'll have everything I need!

Haha, wish I could - remember I live in Fredericksburg - Target does not exist here. Hell, we just got a super Wal-Mart this year, and even that was unheard of......

Work conflict with the first weekend in December.

I've got too many of my own projects right now as it is. Sharky, I have an RPK kit due to arrive Monday, as well as three AK builds in process. Nuts. It's no wonder I don't have time for the car.
