Default Wanted: Cylinder head for 951.

I need a cylinder head for my 88 Turbo. Please let me know what you have. I posted a WTB in the member to member ads but thought I would try here.

Thanks!

Don't get me started with ebay...that may be the one I bought. It has been rebuilt...but the ceramic in two of the exhaust ports is nearly all gone. Ask me how I know...

Tried Oklahoma Foreign as it is close. They don't have any and want $500 for a rebuildable one, if they will even get one. I've already got that in two heads I can't use! All of this because of the dreaded "well if I have it off anyway I might as well do the______" syndrome. All I wanted when I bought this car was a car I can drive once in a while. You find a blown head gasket two days after purchase and see where it gets you. The car has good records, too! Sorry! I think I may have a line on one from another forum, but so far still looking.

Chuck.

Why do you need a different cylinder head? What is wrong with the one you have? You only mentioned the HG is why I asked.

streckfu's951: The local idiot at the machine shop broke mine and is unwilling to refund my money. He broke the cast aluminum collar that the valve guide goes through into the exhaust port. Says it is not his fault as it was welded by someone previously...yeah...right. I don't think there is enough room to weld with the ceramic liner and the tight confines of the port area. He also charged me to put in a new seat that was only needed because he broke what he did and therefore mis-aligned the valve. He fixed it with an epoxy (probably JB Weld) and says that will hold...uhh...sure. It started to de-laminated from the head with the heat from a heat gun. The head was off to change the blown gasket that the PO knew nothing of. In between all this there were two broken connectors on the flywheel sensors and numerous other little things. I hate this car right now! I have gotten to drive it twice and owned it for three months. Sometimes it doesn't pay to buy one with records either...

MPD47: Thanks for your help..I just drug my feet to long. Trying to fund everything and short $250 to the idiot mentioned above...

hosrom_951: I might have to call them! Thanks!
