Greetings!
Now that I've posted a couple times, I guess it'd be a good idea to introduce myself. I've been lurking on Rennlist for sometime now...originally due to interest in acquiring a G50 911 coupe or 993 coupe. Alas, sometimes things just take a different turn. Now I have an S2.
I've been a car nut for too far back, but with a few too many other distractions in life (job, house, boat, family, etc. not necessarily in that order). Most of my affliction has been with something from the VW/Audi family...I guess With an S2, some things don't change About six months ago, a buddy of mine mentioned an S2 coming up for sale. Having seen and ridden in the car a year earlier, I was interested. But then it broke on the previous owner. At 120k miles, you can guess what failed (that plastic thing in the head). Unfortunate, especially since it was maintained by a supposedly quality independent Porsche shop. So, after finding a slightly used head with cams and a headgasket set, and some spare time here and there, it runs! That buddy who turned me on to it? He helped me with the final assembly on the replacement head install, so all's forgiven there He used to hang out on the 993 forum, since he's a tt owner...then he went and made working on Porsches his livelihood. He doesn't seem to post as much as before.
Now I get to learn a new car...so far, so good. Love the torque of the 3 liter And thanks to all who've been down these paths before me. I've benefited far more than my RL membership cost. Hope to contribute a fraction as much.
So that's my story (and I'm sticking to it

Thx!...my avatar is a pic from the previous owner--he was meticulous about caring for it. I've got a few more from him I'll put up when I have a chance. Gonna go play this weekend...DE at Portland with the Audi club

Linus, good to have you onboard. As you already know there is more help and enthusiasm here then you will (hopefully) ever need.
You set an outstanding example by supporting Rennlist so early.
