Default Sold the 85.5

Well, for the first time since I've been able to drive, I don't have a 944 to speak of. I sold the 85.5 on Ebay and the new owner drove her back up to MI today.

Les and I were pretty sad watching her drive away - but it was for the best. We're going to be out of the game for a year or so waiting for the right 951 or 930.

It was fun while it lasted

He lives outside Detroit and it's his first 944. My 85.5 was definitely a good one to start with.

I think you could easily see $4200 for your car provided that things are in order. Your run-of-the-mill dash cracks, dents and fairly recent T-belt job 2.5 944 on Ebay usually breaks 3k, but you do need to have some extra material to push it over 4. The paint can't be too terrible and hopefully you have some sort of "X" factor - something that gives someone an attachment to your car in particular - sport seats, LSD, Fuchs or any particular option or included tidbit. The 944 market is still just flooded with junk cars and that will be holding us down for I'm betting another 10 years or so.

If you decide to list your car on something like Ebay, the best tips I can give are to be honest and make sure you use good grammar. In addition to proving you are not just some sort of dirt-bag, simple things like these really do go a long way for a lot of people. Thanks, Cory I'm going to need your low-mileage example-sniffing nose here in the near future. Have you seen the 88 Silver Rose in IL on AutoTrader? 24k miles, 24k asking price? We've thought about just pulling the trigger on that one, but I think we're actually going to look long and hard at the 930 option. Now is the time to do it with those cars.

Sam, Leslie wasn't very happy I think she's contemplating leaving me for a 951-driver, so it's really important that I get back into a P-car quickly!

the paint was done last nov. it has a lil ding int e front lowwer section of the bumper but still and always was garaged. besides the 4" tear in the seat interior wise its imaculate. i ahve a 300$ alpine headunit cd player, 180$ pioneer 4x6" speaker replacements, the stock phonedials in pretty awesome cond. brand new front brakes, brand new toyo proxies, new: water pump timing belt thermosate. new plugs and wires, new alternator belt (with the a/c deleted), new battery....i def. put some money into the car and now the clutch ...id liek to keep it but i dont want to set myself further into debt with it and having an 12 sec awd talon too....between the two the local flatbeds made a fortune off me and you should invest stock in auto zone as long as i ahve these two cars lol....i just cant see getting rid of the dsm so im gonna settle with selling the 944 and maybe someday in the next 2 years find a later modle 928
