Default VDO OIL DRAIN PLUG TEMP SENSOR INFO

I have been looking all over the internet, eBay, Google. I have even been to the VDO web page and can not find a listing for the m20 x 1.5 VDO 150 C temp sensor that replaces the drain plug in the pan. Does anyone have any leads as to where to get them or if they have one that they would like to sell let me know.

Respectfully

Dean

I dont think VDO made one that was plug and play. What you will need to do is drill and tap your own drain plug and fit a VDO temp sensor.

I actually have a spare if you would like it for what it cost me to make ($12) and whatever shipping is to you.

Many Thanks!!!!

They were all over EBAY a couple of months ago then they just disappeared. That is why I thought I may be able to find them in the VDO catalog but I did not see any listed. I am now wondering if they were really VDO units.

If Brad can not supply me one I may take you up on the sender and just drill and tap the pan but I was hoping to avoid that.

Many Thanks

Dean, i was not refering to drilling and tapping the pan. If you have drill press available to you, all you need to do is goto the local Pepboys or whatever autostore is in your area and pick up a spare drain plug. Purchase the VDO sender and drill / tap the drain plug, insert and secure the sender and your good to go.

I have spare plug which already has all this done with a sender in it. It is done very similar in style to the way BradCam did the ones he was selling. I had bought this one from another Rennlist member a few months ago and left it on my desk for my next oil change. I ended up loosing it in the mess of papers and random parts. I bought BradCam's to save me the trouble of doing it myself and recently found the old plug on my desk. So its a spare i have no use for.

Ahhh That makes sence. I have a spair drain plug as well (still in the pan from my last motor swap) If I can not get one from brad I will go this rout.

If brad does not get back to me I would like to get the sender from you. Seeing that you are in NY and I am in MA the shipping should be next to nothing and quick even if it goes regular mail.

The sender is already embedded in the drain plug, dont think it would be possible to take it out.

If you need just the sender, try EGauges.Com . They have great prices and are very prompt with shipping. Just make sure you get the correct sender for the gauge you are using!

I have got to read things more carefully. I got it. For $12 plus shipping for the complete unit similar to brads. If you want to sell it I will take it I can pay pal the $$$ but I will have to do the pay pal later tonight as I am at the office and my parking runs out at 6:30. My zip is 01773 if you want to figure out shipping. Heck I can not see it costing more than 5.00 to ship how about I pay pal you $20.00 and we call it a deal?

$15 even should cover it. I cant see more than $3-4 to send it in a bubbled envelope. I am not 100% sure i will be home this weekend, if not it will defnetley be sent out next week if thats alright with you. PM me with your mailing address.

And before you send me anything, let me make sure it didnt get lost on my desk again .

I will send all the info later tonight via email on the list. I am running out the door so I don't have to pay the night parking rate here in Boston.

Many Thanks

I have a small run of these plugs coming to service the waiting list from the last buy. I have 5 or so unspoken for (I got your request allocated Dean). If anyone missed out last time, and wants one, send me a PM. I'm trying to hold the price at $15 (shipped in USA), but budget $16 just in case. Reminder that I am just covering costs...
