Congratulations on achieving your goal Paul! Quite an accomplishment. Now it's time to organize a Reunion! I wonder if another Rennsport is in the planning stages; it would be great to see all the cars together again, probably for the first time since they left Germany.
The spoiler on car 101 is interesting, it looks similar to the LeMans-type.

glad that all of these wonderful cars are now located. I'll post some pics soon. Thanks for all of your work, Paul. I've had the car for over 13 years, but didn't know anyone was looking for it.

Just an interesting observation-
None of these are currently in California, usually the center of the sports car universe

Most are in areas (Midwest/upper midwest) where weather can be an issue with rust, road conditions, etc.

Sorry, it's my statistics class kicking in...I just took the final a few days ago....

Those are cool wheels, but I swear that seems a touch heavy for a 16X8/9 (16lbs/18lbs). I thought the wider of the two was ~16lbs, from what had been posted here long ago, IIRC... Still, would be cool, IMO, to have magnesium Phone Dials...

I have one set without tires mounted, I'll try to weigh them and post the results here.

According to... myself

Front (8") : 7,6 kg
Rear (9") : 7,7 kg

With tires, it depends on wich tires.. and remaining compound... but with 50% used slicks (245 front and 265 rear)
Front : 16,6 kg
Rear : 17,0 kg

I'm a bit tired tonight... i let you translate in pounds

For comparison sake:

Here are the phonedial weights for the same sizes (and castings, I would imagine):
8J 52ET
Cast Aluminum: 9.0kg (19.8lb) - part 951.362.116.01
Cast Magnesium: 7.6kg (16.7lb) - part 951.362.116.11

So in switching from aluminum to magnesium, they saved 3.1lb.

However, since the sizes were different (951's run 7" front, and 8" rear, where turbo cup cars ran 8" front and 9" rear) we can compare the savings of rotating mass overall

Aluminum 951 wheels:
F- 16x7- 8.4kg
R- 16x8- 9.0kg
total wheel weight: 34.8kg (76.56lb)

Magnesium 951 cup wheels:
F- 16x8- 7.6kg
R- 16x9- 7.7kg
total wheel weight: 306kg (67.32lb)

TOTAL ROTATIONAL WEIGHT SAVINGS: 9.24lb

What tires did the cup cars run standard, by the way?

Dry : slicks --> 245/45/16 front and 255/40/16 rear (Dunlop D40 Cup for France and Pirelli PZero otherwise)

Wet : "rain slicks" --> 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 rear

You can see the slick tires on the pictures below :

According to the original owner that was how it was when he bought it. Also, there are no centercaps with the rims? I have the recaro drivers seat and the passenger seat is a regular seat with no power whatsoever. Is that what you also have? My car has no radio and no speakers, just the grills. Have you looked to see if there is any wiring for the radio or speakers? Not that I'll be installing a radio, just curious.

Thanks....

Jay
Really fast reply... i must go and work
* hood is in GFK, the paint behave differently and can cause color differences...
* centercaps : it should have some... but they were almost never used during races (because not really easy for maintenance)
* seats : you have the genuine configuration... Recaro seat for the driver and a standard (non electrical) seat for the passenger (that was removed during race to save some weight)
* no radio, no speaker (only the grills) and no wiring to my knowledge...

Hope this helps
