Looking for all nine 1987 U.S. Turbo Cup cars

Some pics of interesting parts on the #10 '87 Escort car. This was the BF Goodrich tire testing car that later did a little pro racing in the SCCA World Challenge and IMSA Supercar series in the early 90's. Some parts are original factory motorsports pieces and other parts have been added by the race team/shops since.
1) solid alum. upper torsion bar carrier mount, factory motorsport part - note part number in casting.
2) factory 951 part numbered Koni double adjustable rear coilover, with non-factory hose clamp pulling duty as a lower perch jam nut...
3) unusual banjo bolt and fitting on front brake caliper line, not sure if this is a pre-production Cup setup for using the 928S4 calipers or something adapted by a race shop.
4) Smaller 90 Amp alternator; Kelly Moss swaybar bracket stiffener, cool brake ducting, clamp on inboard side of swaybar bushing, factory Cup manual steering rack (depowered power rack).
5) little heat shield to protect tie rod balljoint.
6) factory undercoating delete tub.
7) factory ABS over-ride pressure switch on master cylinder, heat shielding on brake lines (?)
8) Hood strut bracket
9) Hood pin bracket, unusual K&N filter and AFM arrangement.

Just to verify a few things, my Cup car also has the torsion carrier arm solid mounts, 90 amp alternator and manual steering/depowered power rack.
How does the ABS over-ride switch work? My car does not have this.
Regarding the rear double adjustable Konis, I've attached a picture below with the same Koni shocks - part number 951.333.031.34. The picture also shows the Factory Bilstein rear shocks that came on the ROW cup cars. I'm missing the top spring hats - can you shoot me a picture of yours so I can fab some up - or do you need some spare shocks?

John,
Yeah, got it here last wednesday.
The ABS over-ride was installed on the 87 Escorts, I do not know if it was installed on the 87 Euro Cups, but probably. There was a lot of concern about using ABS in race cars that first year. They were worried that if the car began to spin, or some other event where the driver wanted to lock the wheels, the ABS would not allow the brakes to engage. So they installed this over-ride switch to disengage the ABS at very high pedal pressure. The set pressure is 160 bar on the original units. And there were 2 other over-ride switches available to the race teams with different settings, 170 and 185 bar if it was found the 160 was too low. I am assuming that it was determined that these switches were not necessary, as they were not used on later Cups, and never were used on any street car.
See attached pic of the top perches. Its a spare NOS set I have - they are koni part numbered, not factory 951 parts, but are identical other than the lower perches. The upper perch is an unusual two piece design. I will disassemble one and take some pics for you. May want to contact Koni and see if there is any way they still have some. Otherwise it would be a somewhat expensive part to machine. If you are interested in selling what you have, send me a pm.
Also, came across these pics of your car and its sister team car - do you already have these?

Jim - Do I smell a new car in the shop?

I am currently researching the two red 944 clun sports referenced in this string, a turbo and s club sport owned by Bob Bogan and driven by Paul Brand and Scott Lagesse. I am looking for any history about who drove these cars in races held during 1987 and 1988 along with any races they may have won.

It would be quite a treat if you could make it out to the 944Fest with that car. I know that it will be one of the highlights of the event, at least for me anyway.
And Dan is just being modest about helping out with the Fest. He still puts a lot into it himself every year weather he likes to admit it or not.

More big name drivers in the '86 series, and a lot more porsches involved. Only two 951s and two 944S CS cars were campaigned in '87 (Bogan and Hurst).
I don't recall the Motorsports International cars winning any races, overall or class wins 86-88. Pretty sure the only Escort win was the Hurst GT Class 944S win at Brainerd in 87. The only overall porsche wins were with the prototype 944 Turbos in the prior 84-85 Playboy series races.
The SS class was eliminated after '87, so the 951s and Corvettes were not eligible for the 88 series.

Paul, I dont know if the 944S CS cars were legal for the IMSA Firestone Firehawk series in 87 or 88. I do know that there were the 2 16v cars imported in 87 and they both ran in the Escort series (Bogan and Hurst), and there were at least 2 more 16v cars imported in '88. I do not know what series the '88 cars were imported for. Two 88s ended up at Kelly Moss (who was a Firehawk team), but I recall they were sold in the early '90s as unraced, mint cars. The S2s that ran in the Firehawk series from 89-90 were only allowed M030 upgrades, until '91 when the factory imported the seven S2 Clubsports. Then the production Firehawk S2s were allowed to be upgraded to the Club Sport specs.
As shown in those posters - Hurst won the Showroom Stock in 86 and Baker in 87 & 88. Both Hurst and Baker teams ran cars in both the SCCA Escort Series and the SCCA Showroom stock series, but I dont think Bogan did. The M637 Club Sport/Cups were eligible for the Escort series. I am fairly sure that the cars in the Showroon stock series were production cars.

Going thru some junk, I came across this, 8 pages, in German, with part #s and some data on all of the firehawk and turbo cup mods. I have no idea where I got it, I may have downloaded it from here, but it looks like it was made in a copy machine, so ???. Anyway, I took a couple of pics. If anyone is interested and wants scans of the whole thing, let me know and I'll put them up.
